Rilat Set for Season Debut With Saumure This Weekend During NSA Series Doubleheader at Electric City

Inside Line Promotions – FORNEY, Texas (May 15, 2017) – Travis Rilat will make his season debut driving for Richard Saumure this weekend during the Sprint Car Shootout at Electric City Speedway.

The duo is slated to compete on Friday and Saturday at the bullring in Great Falls, Mont., for the first two NSA Series races of the season. It will mark Rilat’s first time racing at the track.

“We went there last year, but it was rained out so hopefully the weather will be better this year,” he said. “I always enjoy going to new tracks and we’ve got a great record while racing in Montana the last couple of years so I’m looking forward to this weekend.”

Rilat and Saumure have produced a top-five finish during all seven races in Montana the last two years. They have won three races and have six podiums during that span, including a third-place finish during the lone visit in 2016.

“I know that Richard and the team have raced there and I’ve always been able to adapt fairly quickly to a new track so I don’t think we’ll have any problems putting ourselves in a good position right out of the box,” Rilat said. “The goal is to win this weekend and I think we have just as good of an opportunity to accomplish that as anyone.”

Rilat scored a podium finish during the first three NSA Series events last year en route to a ninth-place finish in the championship standings despite missing the final weekend.

He has earned three podiums and five top 10s this season while driving his own sprint car in Florida and Texas.
