Inside Line Promotions – GREAT FALLS, Mont. (Aug. 28, 2018) – Electric City Speedway officials have decided to drop all sanctioning with the American Sprint Car Series effective immediately.

That decision begins with the 24th annual Montana Round Up this Friday through Sunday at the 3/10-mile dirt oval. The event showcases a $1,500-to-win 360ci winged sprint car and $500-to-win IMCA modified feature each of the three nights. Points will be calculated each night and the top three in overall points at the conclusion of the event receive bonus money.

“The Montana Round Up is a long-standing event that we love putting on each year for the competitors and the fans,” Electric City Speedway Owner Dan Mann said. “It’s a lot of hard work, but a lot of fun as well and we’re really looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend.

“After much thought and prayer we have decided that we can no longer be associated or work with the American Sprint Car Series or its current ownership. There have been differences of opinion in recent years, but we thought that was all behind us last year when we had a meeting with ASCS Founder Emmett Hahn. We ironed things out and felt like we had a successful path drawn up for all parties, but nothing that we agreed upon has come to fruition. Therefore, we are standing up for ourselves and our racers by not sanctioning anymore races with the American Sprint Car Series under the current ownership.”

This weekend’s Montana Round Up is the final event of the season for Electric City Speedway. The three sprint car races will be sanctioned by the North-American Speed Association. It is also the final races on the NSA Series schedule.

The main gates will open at 6 p.m. with racing set for 7:30 p.m. each night.

Fans can order discounted race tickets via the Electric City Speedway website by visiting http://www.electriccityspeedway.com/schedule/?y=2018 and clicking on the ticket emblem next to the date of the race. Tickets will also be sold at the track each night.
